Connections Education LLC, dba Pearson Virtual Schools USA (collectively, "Connections"), a Pearson company, respects your privacy and takes the duty to protect it seriously. As a service provider for public schools, monetizing your personal information would be a violation of our values.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, manage, share, and protect information that we may gather when you visit our website, the websites of our affiliated schools, or the websites for our Education Management Systems, (collectively, the "Websites"), or contact us by phone or other means.
Some states have developed a more nuanced definition of “selling” and “personal information”. Please see below for more detailed information on your particular state.
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a new law, effective January 1, 2020, that gives California residents the right to opt out of the sale of their Personal Information by a business subject to the law. The CCPA does not apply to non-profit or government institutions.
The CCPA defines “personal information” and “sale” very broadly to include data sharing that does not involve monetary payments and may not include names or email addresses. It is unclear whether third party targeted advertising cookies involve the sale of Personal Information under the CCPA. Please also see the Do Not Track information in our California Supplemental Privacy Statement.
We use third party targeted advertising cookies to provide relevant marketing messages about educational programs when you visit connectionseducation.com and connectionsacademy.com, but not in our education management system. Like most websites, this site uses cookies and similar technologies (cookies), such as Google Analytics. Cookies can store preferences, make a site more user-friendly and collect information about site usage and performance. Targeted third party advertising cookies are a particular type of cookie that supports interest-based advertising.
Through browser settings, you can manage or block the use of cookies. In addition, you can use opt-out tools for ad networks and firms who participate in the Network Advertising Initiative at http://optout.networkadvertising.org/ or the Digital Advertising Alliance at http://optout.aboutads.info/.
To effectively manage cookies via browser settings or through these ad industry opt-out tools, you must opt-out and set cookie preferences on all browsers and all devices that you use. If you clear cache or cookies, be sure to reset your preferences.
